About Muuurgh

Composing for video games is not something that I have been working on for years, and was never something that I necessarily imagined myself doing.  By nature, I am a jazz saxophonist/composer.  I graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Music with an East Asian Studies minor, and through my work there composed for many different genres, including jazz, classical and computer music (i.e., through using Max/MSP).

My first (unofficial) foray into the video game music world began when I arranged the songs "Gemini Man" and "Proto Man" from the Mega Man game series for jazz small group to perform in my senior recital in March 2009.  After working with that music, I thought about composing my own original pieces, but didn't actually start doing so until late October 2009, when my friend asked me to provide a soundtrack for a game he was working on.

Now, having experienced the joy of composing for such a medium, I come here to revel in fellow composers' work and to share my own.

My releases on this site include:

- Composition Combat entry, "Decimation" (publish date 11/23/09)

- "Ice Breakers" soundtrack (publish date 11/24/09)
